Where are you on the CEO readiness scale?
We’re told to take messy action all the time, which I get, if you’re not in action then you are stagnant and stuck.
Clarity and creativity comes from action and the energy that generates.
However, it has to be the right action. Action that aligns with where you are on the CEO readiness scale.
There is a natural business lifecycle, and understanding where you are in that lifecycle will help you focus on the right tasks to make money and grow a business you love.

You should definitely grab your free success plan and mini training.
It takes you through the exact proven steps I’ve used with hundreds of entrepreneurs to get them unstuck and actually building a business that works.
Business Life Cycle Step 1: Start-Up
What type of entrepreneur are you?
You are new-ish to this entrepreneurial thing and really want to start with success and take the right steps, but you’re struggling to work out what those are.
You are overwhelmed with what there is to do; funnels, websites, branding, sales pages, social media, lives, podcasts, videos, content creation, messaging your audience, tech, oh the tech!!
You are likely working your business as a ‘side hustle’ whilst you’re working.
How you should grow your online business:
This stage is all about connection and driving sales so you can reinvest in your business.
You don’t need all the fancy tech, you don’t need a bells and whistles website, you don’t need the best branding. You have permission to focus on just money making activities.
As you are new to the scene it’s all about building relationships and establishing your credibility.
Your CEO to do list should include:
-
Anything that gets you in front of your audience so they can see you, hear you, feel your energy and see you as the expert in your industry e.g. Facebook lives, IG stories, webinars, podcasts
-
Collaborations with other amazing entrepreneurs. As you are starting to grow your audience, it’s a great idea to get in front of other people’s audience so you can spread the word about how amazing you are
-
Talking about your offers. You need to tell people about what you do, how they can work with you and actually ask for the sale
-
Anything to fend off overwhelm. Choose 2 or 3 main sources of help and info and unsubscribe from everything else. Also now is the best time to invest in your first
Business Life Cycle Step 2: Step It Up
What type of entrepreneur are you?
You’ve had success in the messy start-up stage getting some clients but you never quite know where your next client or sale is coming from. You’re now dreaming of reliable income.
You are starting to get some routine with your business but you are far from the big C – consistency. The reality of growing your online business is starting to hit and you really want to get to the freedom you dreamed of when you started on this entrepreneurial journey.
How you should grow your online business:
This stage is all about, yes you guessed it, being consistent.
Not just in one thing but in the right things, in producing content, showing up for your audience, in your routine, how you manage your energy and mindset.
Your CEO To Do List should include:
-
Designing a routine that works for you and sticking to it – this could include time blocking, batching content creation and tasks
-
Creating a content, launch and product strategy so that your messaging and sales focus is consistent. If you confuse your audience, you lose them so these plans will help you stay on point
-
Designing, create and promote your next big idea so you can start to build recurring income
Business Life Cycle Step 3: Attract & Connect
What type of entrepreneur are you?
You’re so happy with your products and services, you know they are on point, meeting your clients where they are at and helping with big transformations……if only people knew about them you could really have the impact you want.
You need more eyeballs on what you’re doing so you can really start to scale your reach and income.
How you should grow your online business:
This stage is all about ramping up your visibility and creating a stream of ideal clients who are fully engaged and ready to buy.
We’re talking a scalable system with funnels, opt in’s and all the fun things to create a lead generating system which you just feed with your amazing content.
Your CEO To Do List should include:
-
Designing, building and optimising your main funnels including powerful welcome sequences and freebies that really help your audience
-
Creating high converting content which attracts your ideal clients, turns them into raving fans and paying customers
-
Upgrading your software and systems so you don’t spend all your time doing work arounds or things manually. It’s time to invest.
Business Life Cycle Step 4: Ready to Scale
What type of entrepreneur are you?
You’ve been at this entrepreneur thing a while. You’ve officially joined the consistent income club, but your behind the scenes is pretty chaotic and you feel like your business is the boss of you.
You just wish you felt as confident inside as you portray on the outside. When does this feeling of ‘playing’ at being an entrepreneur go away?
You need to really step up and embody this role of being a CEO and let your business catch up with all the growth you’ve already experienced.
How you should grow your online business:
This stage is all about setting up the right systems, bringing on a proper team and becoming the true leader and visionary in your business.
Your CEO To Do List should include:
-
Identifying the main departments within our business and the tasks within those departments that you want to outsource. Then hire your amazing help
-
Creating systems and management processes so you can leave your business to run itself without you being the bottle neck
-
Working on your leadership skills. Read, listen, learn so you can confidently step into the CEO role and scale your business with ease
These 4 steps form my CEO yellow brick road to success.
The key to success is really being honest about where you are and focusing on the right tasks for your stage.
So many entrepreneurs try to work at the level above before they’re ready. I know I have definitely done that.
However that leads to frustration as you aren’t getting the results you want. It leads to wasted time as you’re not focused on the right things. It leads to the dreaded overwhelm, stagnation and not taking action.
Where are you on the CEO readiness scale? Let me know in the comments…
