It’s all about stepping away from trading time for money and getting more eyes on what you do. It’s about showing up, sharing and building a community who love you and everything you’re about.
You don’t need perfectly crafted sales pages (they don’t exist anyway!) or be on every single social platform. You have permission to step away from the awkward TikTok dance videos and just focus on showing up, sharing and nurturing your community.
You’ve had success in the messy start-up stage getting some clients but you never quite know where your next client or sale is coming from. You’re now dreaming of reliable income.
You’ve been taking all the action, now it’s time to take the right action
Your 3 step business success plan
You want to get in front of your ideal clients so they can see you, hear you, feel your energy and see you as the expert in your industry. Figure out your natural voice and then spend time getting it out there e.g. If you feel good showing up on video then do Facebook lives, IG stories, webinars, trainings.
Collaborations with other amazing entrepreneurs are a brilliant idea. As you are starting to grow your audience, getting in front of other people’s audiences will accelerate how quickly you spread the word about how amazing you are.
Questions to help you figure out where to show up:
- When you have a decision to make, how do you like to work through it? Talking to friends, journaling, video chatting?
- What do you love to do? e.g. create graphics, anything visual, talk to people, connect with people, be in front of the camera, write stories?
- How do you feel most comfortable communicating with people?
My favourite way to work out a decision is to talk it through (just ask my poor hubbie!) and I love conversations with other entrepreneurs. So for me it is so natural to be on podcasts, to be interviewed and generally chat away on calls.
You are starting to get some routine with your business but you are far from being consistent. The key is to be consistent in the right money making, audience building, sustainable foundation creating right things.
Focus on consistency in producing content, showing up for your audience, in your routine, how you manage your energy and mindset. You might wonder why energy and mindset is in there, but remember this quote by Martha Beck – “The way we do anything is the way we do everything”
Questions to help you build consistency into your business:
- What one piece of hero content will you commit to producing each and every week? (the hero content is your main piece of content that all other posts, quotes, questions, lives etc. come from)
- Each and every week how are you going to get in front of your audience?
- What one thing will you do everyday to increase your energy and nurture a positive growth mindset?
My consistency plan
I currently write one blog a week (podcast is in the works as it is my more natural way of communicating) which I then use for all my other content.
I commit to showing up on Instagram stories daily with behind the scenes stuff, glimpses into what’s coming up and with content based on my blog for the week.
Everyday I go for a morning pre-breakfast walk and listen to a podcast which help to set me up for a brilliant day.
Wow, that inner critic can be harsh. We should really feel sorry for them, they are just doing their job, to keep you safe. But building a business means you’ll be doing things outside your comfort zone on the daily and feeling the doubts and worries that go along with that. So this step is about setting yourself up for success.
Nurturing a strong mindset is a lifelong journey but in your go-getter stage continue to develop your mindset by asking yourself:
- What would the me who has achieved their goals do in this situation? – and go do that
- What would my life and business look like in 6 months if let go of my visibility worries?
- How would it feel if I gave myself permission to try things, experiment and enjoy getting visible?
The future version of me loves being visible on her own terms. She shows up in full energy knowing that she is serving her clients with her expertise. She feels joyful and creative now that she has let go of her visibility hang ups. She knows what she wants and is not afraid to go for it. So when I am making decisions I step into that version of myself.
