It’s your time to take the leap and build the business you’re daydreaming about. Success is waiting for you..
You know deep down you are meant for more than the 9-5 grind. You have a business on your heart that you’d love to launch and a fire in your belly but no plan, you just don’t know where to begin.
You’re in the right place, let me use my weirdly strategic creative whizardy combo to show you how to build strong success foundations for your business. Little hint, it all starts with you..
Passion: You know deep down you have what it takes to create an incredible business and life for you and your family, if someone would just show you how. You’re passionate about what you do, how you can impact your client’s lives and make money doing it.
Creativity: You are brimming over with ideas, creativity and ways to really do this business thing differently. Enthusiastic is your middle name (mine’s Stewart – true story, ask me about it one day!)
Drive: You are driven and know this is your year to make it happen, no more waiting, no more procrasticleaning (it’s a real thing!), no more waiting for the magic formula.
Your Success Inspiration Is….
Madam C J Walker was an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and political and social activist who defied the racial and gender constraints of her time to become the wealthiest self-made woman in America and wealthiest African-American businesswoman in 1919 when she died.
She pioneered the mass selling and distribution of her line of hair care products despite huge barriers.
Like you she had a strong vision for what she wanted to create that was so much bigger than her product. She wanted to create well paid employment opportunities for women and she went on to establish a network of sellers across the US.
She didn’t stop at just selling her haircare products at her local market, she saw the potential to break through to the next level by developing a scalable business model. She took the quantum leap.
“Don’t sit down and wait for the opportunities to come. Get up and make them” – Madam C. J. Walker
So what are you deciding today?
Now that you’re all in, let’s learn how to harness your natural talents so you can build a business that delivers the fun, freedom and money you want!
It’s all about drawing out the big picture, figuring out the fundamentals and setting yourself up for success.
You don’t need all the fancy tech, you don’t need a bells and whistles website, you don’t need the best branding.
You have permission to just focus on taking the big leap and setting your intentions for your business.
Your vision is the powerhouse behind why you do what you do and it drives everything in your business from how you show up, to what you sell and how.
It elevates your business from just a money making venture to a purpose driven movement.
It is really personal to you and will be your life raft when you feel like giving up (trust me, it’ll happen, I’ve been there)
Questions to help you figure out your vision:
Don’t edit what you write down, just let it flow. Once you’ve got your answers, read them out loud. What puts a fire in your belly and excitement in your heart? What are the common themes in your answers?
My vision is to help women to take ownership of what they’re great at, offer it to the world in a fun and creative way and make money doing what they love.. I believe in the ripple effect of entrepreneurship to positively change women’s lives, the lives of their clients, their communities and the wider world.
“It’s through mistakes that you actually can grow” Paula Scher
I know this can feel really scary, the thought of taking big steps towards your dreams and messing up. But actually the faster you fail the faster you will reach your goals.
As an entrepreneur you’ve got one main job – get your community to find you, love you and buy from you, that’s it. Simples.
This is your customer journey and everyone goes through it and it forms the foundation of your business success plan.
Questions to help you figure out what messy action to take:
And focus your action on those three key areas. For anything that falls outside of that ask yourself do I really need to be doing this?
Coaching Example – if you’re a career coach then your community is probably hanging out on LinkedIn (find you), you could create a podcast sharing stories of people who pivoted their career into a completely new field (love you) and have a call to action to buy your career coaching course in your emails and outro to the podcast (buy from you).
Wow, that inner critic can be harsh. We should really feel sorry for them, they are just doing their job, to keep you safe.
But starting a business means you’ll be doing things outside your comfort zone on the daily and feeling the doubts and worries that go along with that. So this step is about setting yourself up for success.
Questions to help you start nurturing a strong mindset:
